Farewell till next time Iowa

Sadly this is the last post from Iowa. Tomorrow we leave for New Orleans at 7.00am from Des Moine Airport. Now part of me is so incredibly sad to be leaving but the other part is doing a little Blues like jig to be going to a place I have dreamed of going to since forever!!! I met Mish online a few years ago playing a game on Facebook. We kinda had the odd chat when one day I realised there was so much we did that was exactly the same it was ..........well it was actually kinda shivery creepy!!!! We then started emailing and chattering away and it became regular. We talked about everything with emails that ranged from massive missives to half a dozen words like ...." Felling like crap talk soon". No expectations, no pressure and nothing expected from the other except complete ........honesty. Sheesh....what a thing to base a friendship on huh?????? About 18 months ago we had been having one of our marathon chats when I turned to Mr Fab and had a conversation pretty much like this:
Me: Want to go to Iowa and meet the Yanks? ( we refer to The Stochls as The Yanks)
Mr F: Yes that would be great
Me: Want to get married in Vegas on the way?
Mr F: *cough gasp*
Me: Nah its cool lets just go to Iowa and meet the yanks
Mr F: Well now hold on ~ maybe we could get married..........................
And here we are!!! The BEST thing we ever did. We knew the Yanks IMMEDIATELY  without any hesitation. There has been no awful silences and we have felt welcomed and cared for from the moment we arrived. I am trying not to woffle on about this but thought maybe Fab Readers were a little curious as to how we all met. I asked her during our time together if she was embarrassed to admit to people how we met as they do sometimes look at you a little strangely like it cant possibly be real........but there you have it ~ Internet mates that developed into a long and deep friendship. ( Hmmm maybe we can come up with a better story? Something a little naughty perhaps??*wink wink*) Bottom line is ~  We will be back to Iowa ~ Oh yes indeed we will be back!!!!
Today we went to Breaky then back to the room to finish the suitcases and do the prep for the trip to New Orleans tomorrow. This evening we went to The Funny Bone to do a Comedy show. The show was a Hypnotist called The Sandman and it was EXCELLENT!!! An extremely wonderful way to end and extremely wonderful section of The Fabulous America Trip. Thanks so much M & M for welcoming us into your home and your lives.
We will check back in after we settle into our hotel which is right on Bourbon Street in The French Quarter ~ New Orleans. Missing you all and specially our boy Dex The Wonder Dog!
