Brunch at The Country Club.......including Bonnie & Clyde...

Today both of us are really crook with this darn flu. Loads of special cold medicines and on with another day. We went over to M & M 's house where we all met up to do brunch at The Country Club with their son, daughter in law and granddaughter. Brunch at the Country Club.........Indeed...........
Absolutely gorgeous and because M & M are Home Owners ( Mish's son and I have the teasing on THAT down pat....posh voice and all) ~ anyway they get a discount on everything Country Clubby. Absolutely scrumptious and I am a HUGE fan of American bacon. Mr Fab tried Biscuits and Gravy...looked a bit to not nice for me to try but Mr F said it was nice. Then onward to wine tasting just past Stuart Iowa. It was a fab little original one room school house where the owners Granddad attended. The Winery is called Dale Valley Vineyard & Winery and it was great to chat to the owner Tracy and her sidekick ( I am remiss in not grabbing her name!!!!) ~  inside the old school house. We sampled some wines which had won medals and they were delicious!!! Pity we could not bring them home....
This is the inside of the schoolhouse where you do the tasting. You can then go and sit outside in the gorgeous Iowa sunshine and just ...feel the Serenity. Met some of the locals which is EXACTLY what we wanted to do!!!! The drive out was amazing as we could not get over how beautiful the country side is. Another thing we really like is the amount of homes that fly the American flag in their front yard. Its nice to see. Also no fences???? They seem to all roll into one and other with only the occasional fence between.  We are both really enjoying spending time with M & M and Mark is even teasing me back finally *lol*          ( Cheeky bugger and its ok he understands that is an aussie compliment).
Tomorrow the boys are going to do a tour of The John Deere factory where Mark works and then onto the Iowa Military Museum. Mish asked was I overly interested in that........we are going shopping. You know how Mr Fab loves all things Military.  Oh and this pic >>>>>> is the actual Bank that Bonnie and Clyde robbed in 1934. It was only a Bank for another 10 years but how cool is that?????? We actually stopped and got out to have a better look. This little town of Stuart Iowa is so much like the movies we see you would think you were actually in a movie!!! Tonight is an early night so we can hopefully shakes this bloody flu!!! Jammies and TV in the hotel room and loads of sleep. We are missing everyone a little and missing our boy alot but this is seriously The Trip Of A Lifetime.

  2. Tell the yucky flu to go away, so you can enjoy your vaaacaa!!! See the midwest is sooo much more americana! You can not judge America by LA and Vegas unfortunately. More of the country is like the midwest! I am so glad you are having a wonderful time! Thank you for keeping up with the blog, as it has definitely given me some smiles and lifted my spirits when I needed it!
