We still must be adjusting as we slept till 9.30 this morning!!!! Decided it might be the day to go all touristy so headed off to Universal Studios.Took a cab from the hotel ~ $45 US including tip to be dropped at the door. We decided to have lunch at The Hard Rock Cafe and then do the Universal stuff. We opted for the $77 US standard pass which allows you entrance into the park and access to all attractions.
First stop ~ The Haunted Attraction. BLOODY HELL!!!! I have to admit I jumped about 2 feet in the air and managed to drop the odd SHIT or BLOODY HELL and apparently I said the F Word but deny it. They have people dressed as horror movie characters like Frankenstein or Micheal Myers or Chuckie. They jump out at you in a pitch black maze of hallways. Geeeezuz let me tell you I was over it by the time we got to the end and I say once again ~ Chuckie the Doll is seriously creepy specially when he lunges at you with a knife.......
Next stop was the Special Effects show which was really good. They show you how they make the movies using special effects both from the latest movies right back to early Classics. We then did the Back Lot tour which was seriously AWESOME!!!!! They take you on little buses around to the movie sets and sound stages at Universal. The absolute BEST part was the King Kong 3D where you wear glasses and are in a dark tunnel when all of a sudden GIANT bloody T Rex and Velocer Raptors lunge at you and SPIT all over you!!! The T Rex lunging at the mini tram which rocked and bucked was amazing. Then King Kong comes jumping over the mini tram which shakes and rolls. Extremely EXTREMELY exciting. There was a little girl about maybe 5? After we made it through all the excitement and being covered in Dinosaur drool I looked at her and said :
Me: Wow how scary was that???
Little Girl: Its not real spit you know but way cool.
Me: *LOL* Indeed it was way cool and so was the spit.....
We both then just laughed and wiped Dinosaur drool ~ real or not~ from our clothes and faces.
The Jaws bit was also pretty cool as well but NEVER will anything be as cool as the King Kong 3D....*still blinking*.
By this stage we were happily tired and needed a coffee. Grabbed a chino and also whats called a Churro? I think? Its a long stick of some sort of hot biscuit absolutely SMOTHERED in cinnamon sugar. Delish!!!!!
Even Mr Fab has been somewhat adventurous with his food. We all know he doesn't do change very well so I am well chuffed at how adventurous he is being. He sometimes has "The Face" but still gives it a go.
Taxi back to Crowne Plaza and now its jammies and a cuppa before tumbling into our beds. Yep we are just luvin the huge separate beds........
Glad to see you are having a great time...you are making me get excited about our trip..Rest up for the big week next week..
